Policies and Terms

Class emails and communication

You will receive a confirmation email as soon as you register. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, then call (949) 527-1814 or email lui@breakwateraquatics.com so we can fix it. It is your responsibility to make sure you receive our emails: class details, times and locations can change with facility availability and enrollment, and email is how we tell you.

Online portion

Most classes are blended learning, with an online portion that must be completed before class. You must bring proof of completion; without it you cannot attend and will need to rebook to a later date.

Rebooking and cancellation

Request any change through the "Change or cancel my booking" link in your confirmation or reminder email, or at breakwateraquatics.com/my-booking. A registration may be rebooked once.

• CPR: free rebook more than 24 hours before class; $25 within 24 hours. CPR classes are non-refundable; you may transfer your spot to another person before the class.
• BLS: free rebook more than 24 hours before class; $25 within 24 hours. Refund requests are reviewed case by case.
• Lifeguard Training and Lifeguard Recertification: free rebook or cancellation more than 72 hours before class; a $75 fee within 72 hours.
• Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) and Water Safety Instructor (WSI): free rebook or cancellation more than 72 hours before class; a $100 fee within 72 hours.

Requests made less than 4 hours before a CPR or BLS class, or less than 12 hours before a Lifeguard, LGI or WSI class, cannot be accepted. If you do not attend, it is a no-show and the registration fee is forfeited.

If you registered less than 24 hours before your class starts, you may rebook for free or cancel for a full refund at any time before the class begins.

Online registration closes 4 hours before a class starts.

Prerequisite skills testing

• Lifeguarding: if you do not pass the prerequisite swim test, your fee is returned minus a $75 booking fee.
• Lifeguarding Instructor: if you do not pass the prerequisite test, a $100 booking fee applies.

Fees and materials

Class prices are exactly as advertised, and blended classes include the Red Cross online fee.

Certification

Certificates are issued by the American Red Cross to students who attend and successfully complete the class. Retrieve your digital certificate at redcross.org/take-a-class/digital-certificate.
